Natural Dyeing Options for Hair – Part II

No one likes to see their hair turning gray before time! Do we? That’s where hair coloring comes in handy, especially when the premature graying makes it difficult to face anyone.

Gray strands are a sign of wisdom that comes with age and we can wear it with pride. But that’s when we’re old, not young right? So, when you are considering options to color your hair to look neat and dandy, you’re probably tempted to go with easy to use and handy hair colors or hair dyes and keep it simple.

The problem with doing that is long-lasting if not permanent hair damage. Much before hair is damaged, it becomes dull and lifeless. Being our crowning glory, we want our hair to look lively and healthy. Right?

The problem with chemical hair dyes and colors is not just the damage but also getting it right. Some last temporarily, some last a few days to few weeks. Then there’s the concept of color that’s suitable for your hair or you personally, and what not! Then there’s special after-care involved for anyone using these colors or dyes.

If all is not enough, continuous use of hair colors and dyes are proven to cause hormonal disruption to cancer or even suppresses our immune system! O you even the so-called natural brands aren’t really natural?

With all the advancements, scientists are still not delivering a harmless coloring aid! Good thing – we have natural options and many are more aware about natural alternatives and are ready to go the mile to use them!

That’s not all – the natural coloring aids are all hair care ingredients and leave your hair healthy and happy too. This means you can look young and do it in style without damaging your hair.

Do you know hair colors and dyes especially the darker ones and exotic colors like chestnut, ebony, maroon, etc. come with a cocktail of harmful chemicals like Para-phenylenediamine (PPD)? Some also have tetrahydro-6-nitroquinoxalineand these chemicals are linked to genetic damage and cancer. Why put those on your hair and invite unwanted issues that are better off left alone?

Formaldehyde is used as a preservative and can disrupt your endocrine system, whereas Ammonia though many companies claimed to have removed it, they’re still used widely. This is just a very small list of what’s added not the complete list and I haven’t even included parabens in the list.

Use of hair colors over a prolonged period has been proven to cause Rheumatic Arthritis, Lymphomas, Bladder cancer and Leukemia. We’re all probably wondering how hair colors that don’t come into contact with scalp or skin unless by mistake can wreak havoc, right? They cause enough damage just being inhaled.

Now that we’ve seen more reasons to go the natural route, and we’ve already seen some natural options in our last post, we should move to other options like herbs, flowers and whatnot for coloring hair.
