DIY Volume Spray

Hair volume decides what style we can go with, how our hair looks like and even our confidence levels are affected when our crowning glory isn’t reigning.

Whether it is a night out, day out, party, function, some special occasion, just a normal workday, the way you look plays a key role in the outcomes. That’s why grooming is important. Especially when it involves going out, sporting head turning locks is everyone’s dream.

To be able to choose any hairstyle, hair volume is important. Limp or thinning hair doesn’t give liberations when it comes to styling. That’s why this sprucing up spray can come in handy. This spray has worked wonders for sprucing up my locks and increasing volume in a jiffy. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Ingredients

Honey – 1 Tbsp.

Brewed Vinegar – 1.5 Tbsp.

Distilled Water – 90 Ml

Sweet Marjoram Essential Oil – 7 Drops

Instructions

Add all the ingredients to a sterilized glass spritzer.

Shake gently to combine.

Done!

How to Use it?

Spray it on your damp hair and style. No need to rinse out after spraying this.

Work this spray from roots to tips for best results – it adds thickness to hair strands and increases volume.

I use this spray when I am leaving my hair fully or partially open and go for the messy or finger combed look – this spray works wonders for that look.

You can spray this to damp or dry hair, though it works best for damp hair – I haven’t tried it on damp hair but anyone I gifted to said it works wonders if hair is damp. So try and see what works for you best.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can use Synthetic / White Vinegar for this recipe. It works equally good.

For those who are worried about bleaching effects of Honey warm it slightly before adding it to this recipe. It is believed that the bleaching effects of honey can cause premature graying of dark hair – warming offsets this effect.

You can use any essential oil of your choice though I love the fresh aroma of Sweet Marjoram.

Shelf Life

Even with distilled water, recommended to refrigerate this recipe – the shelf life depends on the climate / temperature and other factors.

Either prepare small batches according to your need, or refrigerate after use. While both Honey and Vinegar don’t turn bad but it is a good idea to refrigerate since we don’t use any preservative.

Also if the texture or smell of the recipe changes, please discard it.

As always, feel free to tweak the recipe and try out different variations per your requirement or preference. That’s the best part of DY and it makes the effort a lot of fun.
