Detangling is a tough ask especially if you have unruly curly hair. Sometimes even those with straight hair, struggle with tangles.

While my wavy hair is fairly manageable, I can’t say the same after a long ride enjoying the sun or rain, usually the sun! Hair becomes all tangled up and rough until I get something done about it.

I figured using a detangler for such occasions is the best way to go if I don’t want to pull out my hair from the scalp while “trying” to detangle. I have tried different options but the one my friend suggested left me curious to try and with some tweaks I have got the one I like with this.

So, let’s get started. The recipe is real simple and you use 3 ingredients for this if you don’t count water.

Ingredients

Dried Oregano Leaves – 2 Tbsp.
Lavender Hydrosol – as needed
Argan Oil – a few Drops (optional)
Distilled Water – 6 Tbsp.

Instructions

In a mixing bowl add the Oregano Leaves.

Heat up the Distilled Water and pour on the leaves and cover it for about 25 minutes.

Strain and pour it in your sterilized spriter.

Add Lavender Hydrosol and Argan Oil.

Cover and shake gently.

Done!

How to Use the Detangler?

Just spray it on your hair and viola! Detangle away without splitting, damaging or pulling out your hair.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can reduce the Distilled Water if you’re having really curly hair instead of wavy hair – so it will make up for the addition of Lavender Hydrosol. Alternatively, you can use natural extracts like vanilla for adding aroma to this.

While adding Argan Oil is really optional, I liked that it made my hair more soft and manageable. Just shake before use to combine the oil with the recipe. You can skip this or use your favorite carrier oil instead.

Shelf Life

Refrigerated it lasts for a 2 weeks or more. I usually prepare smaller batches for the freshness it brings with it, also since I can switch the aromas this way.
