Mix and transfer to sterilized dispensers.

Done!

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can also use Lanolin or other waxes including Soy Wax, Candelila Wax or Carnauba Wax. Candelila Wax gives a glossy finish, if that’s not your preference, go with some other option.

To add volume you can try adding Silicone to your recipe, though adding Avocado Oil gives similar result. So, try that before you opt for Silicone or by-products.

Infused Oil – You could choose herbs, flowers or even aromatic ingredients like Vanilla here. The idea is to make the oil multipurpose. I have tried Vanilla, Lavender, Rosemary, Coffee, etc. I chose Vanilla for gifting and Coffee or Rosemary for hair care. However, you can also use carrier oil without infusing and use Essential Oils to add aroma to the recipe.

Glycerin is optional and I don’t use it that often in the recipe. It’s optional and needed if you have dry hair or scalp. But if the atmosphere is too humid or moist it is counterproductive and being in a tropical place it doesn’t work for me. But you can give it a shot and see how it works for you.

You can add Essential Oils when you haven’t used any aromatic ingredients in the infused oil. When using Coffee or Vanilla, or even Lavender, you won’t need essential oils for most part.

You can use any oil for infusing – Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil, Sunflower Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, etc. Make sure all the ingredients you use are natural, organic and non-GMO.

You don’t need to whisk this recipe but it’s your choice. Pomade is usually dense and you can keep it light or dense based on the hold you’re going for – vary the oil – wax ratio according to your preference. This one is fairly lighter and easy to apply when rubbed between your fingers for warming up.

How to Use the Pomade?

Take a small dollop of the pomade and apply on your strands. Style as usual.
