Aloe Recipes for Hair – Part III

We’ve already seen a lot about Aloe Vera in Ingredient Spotlight recently. Now, we’re going to learn how to use it for hair care.

There are different ways to use Aloe Vera. The best part about this herb is that it suits most hair types and can work for most hair and scalp problems – the way it is used for different hair and scalp types, or hair or scalp problems varies. But the key ingredient remains the same – Aloe Vera. Let’s take a look at how to use it for hair and scalp problems.

Frizz

Want to deal with Frizz? You can apply Aloe Vera to your locks, let it sit for a while and wash off. Not only does it tame your frizz, it will also leave your locks silky and bouncy. Besides, detangling becomes a breeze with Aloe vera! What’s not to like about it?

Limp Hair

When there’s a lot of oil, hair becomes limp. It looks and feels greasy, making it difficult to head out with hair looking worse for wear. Squeeze a lemon and set the juice aside. Take ¼ cup of Aloe Vera (depending on your requirement), 2 Tbsp. of Lemon Juice and mix well. Apply this to your hair shaft and rinse off. Your curls are bouncy and look gorgeous!

Dandruff?

Soothing and healing, Aloe Vera is one remedy that works well for Dandruff. Add a few drops of Tea Tree Oil to a mixing bowl, along with a spoon of Rose Water and 2 Tbsp. of Aloe Vera Gel. Mix well and apply on your scalp. Wait for 30 minutes before washing off. DO this thrice a week till your hair looks and feels better, and Dandruff is curbed. After that, do this once or twice a week.

Tea tree oil has antimicrobial properties that fight against the microbes causing dandruff. Aloe vera has soothing properties against the itching and redness caused due to dandruff. Rosewater soothes the irritated scalp and hair.

If you don’t want to use Rose Water or Tea Tree Oil, use a Tbsp. of ACV and a spoon of Honey instead along with Aloe Vera. Apply the mixture to your scalp and rinse off after 45 minutes.

Split Ends? Damaged Hair?

Damaged Hair needs special care and attention. As for split ends, we already know they can’t be cured or stuck back together 😉 but we can prevent it from happening again.

A very good rejuvenator, Hibiscus when combined with Aloe Vera can do wonders for your hair and scalp. Grind a few Hibiscus Flowers into a paste along with a cup of Aloe Vera gel and apply this mixture to your scalp and hair. Wait for 30 minutes before washing off. Repeat this before shower until your hair is better and then at least once a week to maintain your hair and scalp health.

These aren’t all, so we will be adding more to this list. Stay tuned for more Aloe recipes and other DIY recipes or tips and tricks for hair care and styling.
