Hair thinning is a very common problem these days. Thanks to our unhealthy lifestyle, unhealthy food choices, hectic and stressful career choices, we see a lot of changes in our body. One such issue is hair thinning, brittle and lifeless hair, hair fall, etc. So, what can you do?

Use more “hair care” products and hope it will become fine? Absolutely not! You don’t have to spend a fortune on hair care products to restore your hair health. Egg is found in most of our homes and good thing – it’s one of the best foods for your hair.

Let’s learn how to use it as a nourishing and strengthening pack for our hair. Shall we?

Ingredients

Egg – 1 or 2
Honey – 1 Tbsp.
Rosemary Essential Oil – 3 Drops
Myrrh Essential Oil – 4 Drops
Aloe Vera Gel – 4 Tbsp.

Instructions

Slightly warm the honey – this helps prevent lightening of hair color especially for those with darker hair.

Break the egg(s) and add to a mixing bowl.

If you’re using fresh aloe vera leaf – make sure to cleanse it and use it to prevent itching. Scoop out the aloe gel after getting rid of the resin that comes from the leaf and rinsing it thoroughly. Whisk it in a blender for a smooth consistency if you prefer. Add the aloe gel to the mixing bowl.

Now, add in the essential oils and Honey.

Whisk well to combine.

Done!

How to Use the Mask?

Apply the mask on your scalp and hair – make sure to cover form root to tip.

Let it sit for 20 – 25 minutes – wrap your head with a shower cap to prevent leaking or spilling.

Rinse off with tepid water to remove the mask and then shampoo as usual.

Air dry.

You can do this once a week for best results.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

You can add 1 or 2 eggs – for most this is enough. Use organic eggs for the mask. If your hair is really long, go with adding more of Aloe Gel to add volume instead of piling on eggs. It is recommended to use one or two at most.

You can also add in Unsweetened Yogurt for soft and silky hair. It is also a nourishing ingredient that’s good for any hair type, but dry and dull hair in particular.

You can add any essential oil of your choice. It combats the raw egg odour.

Toss in some Rose Water for added aroma and to get softer hair.

For those who want an alternative for Honey, you can add Glycerin instead.

Those who are allergic to Aloe Vera can add Coconut Cream instead. It’s not a direct substitute but a good hair food.
