DIY Honeysuckle Leave-in Conditioner

Love to pamper your hair and scalp with oils? Here’s a special leave-in conditioner for the oil lovers out here.

Oils offer numerous benefits and depending on the oil you use, the benefits and results vary. I use a lot of oil on my hair and scalp, considering my hair needs a lot of nourishment and care. My hair though can look limp when I oil too much, without oil it will look dry and lifeless.

So, I rely on oils and butters to keep my hair and scalp healthy, moisturized and nourished, while my hair shiny and voluminous. I go with a combination of oils for best results and this Leave-in Conditioner is one such recipe I love a lot.

I wanted a conditioner that will improve hair’s luster and shine, reduce breakage and split-ends while keeping my scalp healthy and nourished. I also wanted a conditioner that doesn’t weigh my hair down, or leave it greasy.

Ingredients

Argan Oil – 1 Tbsp.
Avocado Oil – 4 Tbsp.
Sweet Almond Oil – 4 Tbsp.
Castor Oil – 1 – 4 Tbsp.
Hibiscus Infused Oil – 4 Tbsp.
Honeysuckle Essential Oil – 25 Drops

Instructions

In a sterilized oil mister, add all the above given ingredients.

Shake gently and let it sit for two days before you begin to use.

How to Use the Conditioner?

Mist on damp or air-dried hair. Since this is a leave-in conditioner, use it after shower, or whenever you need a boost. Style as usual.

Tips to Tweak the Recipe

The choice of essential oil(s) is purely your preference and liking. Feel free to use something else if you like the benefits or aroma of your favorite essential oil better.

You can also use your preferred or accessible carrier oils instead of the ones listed here.

You can infuse your oil at home, or buy infused oils according to your preference. Aloe Infused Oil, Hibiscus Infused Oil, Calendula Infused Oil, False Daisy Infused Oil, etc. are a few examples.

How to Prepare Infused Oil?

Take a handful of Hibiscus flowers and clean them thoroughly. Let them dry in shade – to get rid of the excess moisture as a result of washing them. You can also use dried flowers if you don’t get fresh ones.

Take enough Sesame Oil or Coconut Oil and heat it in a deep iron pan. When hot, add the flowers to it and let it simmer for a few minutes.

When the flowers have lost their color, or when the oil is sufficiently infused and changes color, you can remove it from heat.

Let it cool down before you use it in your mister.
