DIY Dandruff Remedies – Part II

We were looking at natural remedies for Dandruff recently. In line with that post, here are more remedies for you, as promised!

Margosa & Olive Oil

Grab a handful of Margosa or Neem Leaves. Now, grind this to a paste with about 4 – 5 spoons of Olive Oil and apply this paste to your scalp. Let it sit for 40 minutes to an hour, before washing off. Do this twice a week till you get relief and then do it once a week, to prevent dandruff.

Baking Soda

In a mixing bowl, add 3 spoons each of baking Soda, Lemon Juice and a bowl of ACV. Now, apply this mixture to your scalp and massage for a few minutes. When you scalp begins to itch, rinse and wash off with a mild shampoo. Do this once a week, not more!

Honey & Coconut

In a mixing bowl, add 2 spoons each of Yogurt, Honey, Coconut Oil, Argan Oil and Olive Oil and mix well. Apply this to your scalp and massage for a few minutes. Wash off after 30 minutes and do this twice a week for welcome relief from dandruff. You can add more or less Yogurt, depending on the consistency.

Yogurt

We have already seen one or two remedies with Yogurt, even in our previous post. But this one is easier! Just apply Yogurt to your scalp and massage for a few minutes. Wash off after 20 – 30 minutes. You can do this 3 times a week, and then move to once a week to prevent and curb dandruff.

Banana & ACV

Take a ripe Banana and mash it well. Now, add a cup of ACV and mix well. Apply this mixture to your hair and massage for a few minutes. Let it sit for 15 minutes before washing off. You can do this 2- 3 times a week and then make it once a week, to prevent and curb dandruff.

Fuller’s Earth

Take a cup of Fuller’s Earth and add 3 spoons of Lemon Juice to it. Now add enough water to make a fairly runny paste. Apply this mixture to your scalp and wait for 15 – 20 minutes. Rinse off. Do this once or twice a week for welcome relief from dandruff.

Black Pepper & Yogurt

Take a cup of Yogurt and add 2 Tbsp. of ground Black Pepper to it. Mix well and apply this mixture to your scalp. Wash off after 15 – 20 minutes and do this twice a week for relief from dandruff.

Tea Tree Oil

To your shampoo, add 3 – 5 drops of Tea Tree Oil and massage your scalp with it. Wait for 3 – 5 minutes before washing off. Basically, this works better if you wash out your hair once with shampoo to get rid of accumulated dust and dirt before doing this. You can do this twice a week.

Orange Peel

To your blender, add orange peel from 1 orange and juice from 1 or 2 lemons. Grind them together, with Yogurt or Water to make a paste. Apply this to your scalp and let it sit for 30 minutes before washing off. You can do this once or twice a week.
