Do you want to nourish and strengthen your hair? Here’s a simple and natural hair spray that will do that for you and the best part – no greasy feeling!
I was looking for a hairspray that I could use, which would also strengthen and nourish my hair. Let’s take a look at the recipe, shall we?
Distilled Water – 200 Ml
Aloe Vera Gel – 3 Tsp.
False Daisy Leaves – 4 Tsp.
Dwarf CopperLeaf – 4 Tsp.
Margosa Leaves – 2 Tsp.
Rosemary Essential Oil – 15 Drops
Grind the Aloe Vera Gel adding a few spoons of distilled water and set aside.
In a small bowl, bring the distilled water to a boil.
Add the leaves listed above (dried leaves are fine if you don’t get fresh leaves) and let it simmer for a few minutes.
Remove from heat.
When the mixture is cooled down, transfer it to a spritzer.
Add ground Aloe Vera and Rosemary Essential Oil.
Shake to combine and use as needed.
Tips to Tweak the Recipe
You can also use other hair beneficial herbs like Nettle, Horsetail, Rosemary, Sage, Holy Basil, Lemon Grass, Hibiscus, etc.
Not just herbs, you can also use other hair beneficial ingredients like Ginger, Burdock, Ginseng, Indian Gooseberry, etc.
Hair beneficial Essential Oils like Spikenard, Lavender, Seabuckthorn, Clary Sage, Peppermint or even Cedarwood can be used.
I wasn’t looking for hold, though you can add sugar or honey, if you want hold. If you want light hold, you would need up to 3 Tbsp. of sugar for this recipe.
It is a good idea to refrigerate this recipe and prepare fresh batches every week or two, though it lasts for a month or two, when refrigerated.
How to Use it?
Just spray on dry hair, or whenever you need hair refreshed and shiny. Though it is ideal to spray during the night, so you can let it sit without the addition of styling products, if you don’t want to wet your hair before you hit the bed, use it before styling.
Why These Ingredients?
All the ingredients used are natural, easily available and extremely beneficial for your hair. Each ingredient has different properties, so you could check the list of other options listed under tweaking to get an idea lf alternatives. Pick the ingredients based on your requirement, like for example:
For hair strengthening, Curry Leaves, Holy Basil, etc.
For hair growth, Rosemary, Curry Leaves, Sage, etc.
For conditioning, Hibiscus is an option.
Like that, you can come up with your own versions and ingredients that are available or more suited for your requirements, to customize this recipe for your needs. What’s the fun with DIY if you don’t play around with the ingredients, mix and match or tweak it a bit?
Feel free to pick ingredients that are ideal, or more related to your issues and the batches are small, so you can always rework on the recipes the next time around. Don’t have time for DIY Recipes? Try HY Vitamins Argan Hair Care Range for healthy Hair and Scalp.
