Creams serve different purposes than lotions, as they can aid with healing do their composition. I wanted a hair cream that will nourish and soothe my hair.

Creams are a combination of oil and hydrosol or water, making it effective as an emollient, healing and soothing agent and depending on the ingredients can help with other purposes. The key to getting this mixture work is to do the emulsification right. When that’s done, the oils and water or hydrosol would remain combined and work together for desired results.

I wanted my hair cream to not only nourish my hair, but also soothe or heal my hair and keep it healthy. I also wanted it to keep hair and scalp problems at bay. So the ingredients chosen are having these aspects in mind and the best thing is that – this is all natural.

Distilled Water – 5 Tbsp.
Aloe Vera Gel – 3 Tbsp.
Borax – ¼ Tsp.
Citric Acid – ¼ Tsp.
Vitamin E Oil – ¼ Tsp.
Sweet Almond Oil – 2 Tbsp.
Olive Oil – 2 Tbsp.
Argan Oil – ¼ Tsp.
Lanolin – ¼ Tsp.
Beeswax – 15 Gms.
Avocado Oil – 4 Tbsp.
Rosemary Leaves – few
Horsetail Stems – few
Oregano Leaves – few
Sweet Marjoram Essential Oil – 16 Drops
Clary Sage Essential Oil – 7 Drops

The first step will be to prepare infused oil. For infused oil, add a few Rosemary and Oregano Leaves along with Horsetail Stems to Avocado Oil & Sweet Almond Oil after drying them in the shade. Keep it the sun everyday for a few days till the oil is infused, or use double boiler or simmer the oil to infuse it – whatever is easier or suitable for you.

Infuse the distilled water with Rosemary Leaves, Oregano Leaves and Horsetail Stems. You can do this by either using a double boiler, or by preparing herbal tea or concoction. Filter and set aside.

Add Beeswax, Lanolin and Olive Oil to your double boiler and let it melt.

When it begins to melt, remove from heat.

When the mixture cools down, add it to your blender. Also add Vitamin E Oil, Borax, Citric Acid, Infused oil and Argan Oil to it and start whipping.

Now, slowly introduce the infused water along with Aloe Vera Gel and continue whipping.

When almost blended add the essential oils and continue blending till the emulsification is complete – you will get a fluffy cream.

Voila! Transfer to a sterilized jar and use as needed.
