Today, many of us prefer going DIY for hair care. Hair rinses are currently in the vogue. Do you know you can prepare your own herbal hair rinses? Ready to get started?

Remember – If you want stunning locks, you must care for it. However, it isn’t very difficult – eat healthy, practice good hair care regimen, sleep adequately, stay hydrated and don’t pile on the chemicals on your hair. Are these requirements reasonable?

Now that we agree on the basics, it is time to talk about hair care regimen. Healthy and happy hair is one that’s taken care of well. You must cleanse your hair, but also nourish, moisturize and rejuvenate it. Hair rinses promote healthy hair by cleansing your hair, conditioning it and also by boosting circulation in the scalp.

Hair Rinses for Healthy Hair

Hair rinses are simple to prepare and work well, as long as you choose the right one for your hair type. Have you prepared herbal teas? Herbal hair rinses are no different. Let’s take a look at few herbal hair rinses according to your hair type. Shall we?

Brunettes

Have you heard about Sage? Of course, you already use it for different reasons or probably even for hair care. Do you know you can use it as a hair rinse?

Brunettes can use Sage as a hair rinse. It also adds color to your hair, so helps hide greys.

Just bring ½ cup of Sage Leaves to a boil in 2 Cups of water and use as hair rinse.

Red Heads

Hibiscus is ideal as a hair rinse for red heads. Bring ½ cup of hibiscus flowers (dried or fresh, red color) to a boil in 2 cups of water and use as rinse.

This can add color to your hair so can also hide greys.

Blondes

Choosing the right hair rinse for blondes can be tricky, since you don’t want your hair stained. You can use Chamomile or Rhubarb as rinses for your golden locks.

Chamomile

Chamomile Rinse is ideal if you want to slightly lighten your hair. Just bring ½ cup of Chamomile flowers to a boil in 2 Cups water and use as rinse.

Rhubarb

Rhubarb is ideal for honey brown or blonde hair. It adds a golden hue to the locks, a reason it is loved by blondes. It highlights the golden hue for blondes. Bring ¼ Cup Rhubarb stalks to a boil in 2 cups of water and use as a rinse. You can also add Chamomile if you want, or just use Rhubarb separately.

Dark Colored Hair – Black or Brown

If you have dark hair like dark brown or black, tea or coffee or even henna can be use as hair rinse.

Tea

Make a thick concoction of black tea using tealeaves in two cups of water and use as hair rinse. I use about 2 – 4 Tbsp. depending the tea strength for my dark brown hair.

Coffee

Being 2 – 4 tbsp. of ground coffee or coffee beans to a boil and use as rinse.

Henna

Usually, henna gives a mild brown – orange hue. So pick the darker color options like black or brown depending on your hair color – yes, henna comes in different colors.

Just bring ½ cup of henna leaves or henna powder to a boil and use as rinse.

How to Use the Hair Rinses?

Just use it as final rinse – no rinsing afterwards. I add a few drops of Argan Oil instead of Essential Oils, sometimes.
