To reduce and face spots, you can also add a few drops of lemon juice to this mask.

What’s with the Ingredients?

The Ingredients used in this recipe aren’t any new. However, let’s take a look at the highlights of the ingredients we have used for this recipe.

Avocado

Avocado has been used for centuries to protect and nourish skin, though gained prominence in the mainstream only recently. Rich in Vitamin A, it helps get rid of dead skin cells. Glutamine amino acid in avocados not only cleanses your skin, but also protects it from damaging environmental factors. The antioxidants get rid of toxins and delay aging. In short, it gives youthful glow and prevents and delays wrinkles.

Honey

Honey is a natural moisturizer and anti-aging aid. It is rich in anti-microbial properties and hence, deals with many skin conditions including acne. It is loaded with anti-oxidants, so protects skin from UV rays inflicted damage, toxins, etc. It draws moisture to your skin and keeps it hydrated and supple.

Oatmeal

Oatmeal has scores of skin related benefits and has been used by the Egyptians and Arabians for its beauty benefits. Oats are rich in polisaccharides, which is what makes oats gelatinous in water. This substance helps form a protective layer when applied on skin and helps combat dry skin, dull skin and flaky skin.  Do you know oats can effectively address rashes, peeling skin, itching and rashes that are associated with dry skin?

Rich in beta-glucan, oats penetrates deeper into your skin and moisturizes it. It also helps remove dead skin cells and promotes healing. It helps boost collagen production and considered beneficial for aging and scar-ridden skin.

According to a certified dermatologist Dr. Susan Stuart, “Oatmeal contains both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties and as such is ideal for sensitive skin and to treat a variety of skin disorders (i.e. sunburns, eczema and poison ivy).”

Oats is suitable for everyone, irrespective of their skin type. Colloidal oatmeal, which is ground oatmeal, can help get rid of severe itching, when combined with warm water and applied to affected areas. Do you know oats is used to heal neurodermatitis, a skin condition that leaves one skin inflamed and itchy?

Oats helps lightens skin tone and reduces blemishes and dark spots, a reason they’re added to skin lightening products and other cosmetics.

Do you know Oatmeal can relieve itch caused due to poison ivy or insect bites? Rich in protein and anti-oxidants, it protects and nourishes your skin naturally. It also protects your skin from sun-inflicted damage.

That’s not all! Rich in saponins, natural cleansers, Oats removes excess oil, dirt and grime from your skin, effectively. It also reduces pore size, leaving your skin smooth and fine.  What’s not to like about this wonderful cereal?
