Yogurt

When you have mild dandruff, you can use a simple yogurt remedy for relief. In a small mixing bowl, add 12 teaspoons of plain Yogurt, 3 teaspoons of Olive Oil and a few drops of Argan Oil. Mix and use as a scalp mask. Let it sit for 30 – 40 minutes and wash off with a mild herbal shampoo.

This works if it is mild, dry dandruff and you don’t need to condition your hair after shampooing. If your hair is dry and damaged, you can increase the quantity of yogurt and oil. It moisturizes and nourishes your hair and scalp, getting rid of dry dandruff.

Apple Cider Vinegar

In a mixing bowl, take six spoons of Apple Cider Vinegar. Add six spoons of water to this and 10 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil. Mix well and apply this to your scalp. Let it sit for 15 minutes and wash off with your shampoo. You can also use White Vinegar if you don’t have Apple Cider Vinegar.

Lemon

In a mixing bowl, add a cup of yogurt and juice from one lemon. Apply this mixture to your scalp and wash off after 30 minutes. If you don’t want to use yogurt, you can use water for diluting lemon juice. Lemon juice fights bacteria and fungi, keeping dandruff at bay.

Egg

Rich in protein, egg can do wonders for curbing dandruff. In a mixing bowl, add an egg (with yolk). Beat well and add 2 – 4 Tbsp. of Olive Oil. Apply this mask to your hair for welcome relief from Dandruff.

Neem

Neem is a powerful antibacterial and antifungal. Grab two handfuls of Neem leaves and grind to a fine paste in your mixer by adding little water. You can apply this paste to your scalp and let it sit for 30 minutes before washing off.

Garlic

Mash a few garlics. In a mixing bowl, add the mashed garlic and a cup of yogurt. Mix and use this as a scalp paste. Wash off after 20 minutes.

How to Use The Masks?

All the Masks are pre-shampoo masks and can be applied to the scalp directly. They should be allowed to soak-in for at least 15 minutes – 30 minutes before washing off.

A mild or natural shampoo is preferred. In most cases you don’t conditioning, since these masks either use yogurt or oil that leave your hair soft and smooth. You should use the mask 2 – 3 times a week and at least for 2 – 4 weeks before seeing any improvement.

Most natural medicines take time and the results can vary with every individual. If one remedy doesn’t work, you can try another one. Dandruff is a chronic condition and there isn’t known permanent cure for it. Hygienic habits and good hair care can keep dandruff at bay.
